My Delicious, Healthy Smoothie Recipe!

Hello Everyone,

As I was playing around with my new camera, I realized that I haven't blogged in a while and now would be a perfect opportunity! I wanted to share one of my favorite, healthy snacks that I like to make when I come home from school. I always post pictures of my smoothies on my Instagram and I get so many comments asking for the recipe so here it goes. To be completely honest, I never use a specific recipe when making my smoothies. I just like to throw a bunch of fruits in and some orange juice and voila! That being said,  these are the ingredients I will normally use when making one of my smoothies:

First off, I always add orange juice. One of my favorites is the Trader Joe's Calcium Added Orange Juice without pulp.

I usually add a cup if I am making the smoothie for only one person but if I am also making it for Sabrina I add 1 cup and a half.

Next, I add a whole banana. I always just use one banana whether I am making it for just me or for two people. Bananas are perfect if you are about to workout because they provide a lot of energy. They are rich in potassium which helps the body's circulatory system, they have five times as much vitamin A as an apple, and for all you ladies out there: they can reduce your menstrual pains without taking medicine!

Of course, we need some strawberries for our smoothie! I use Frozen Strawberries for Costco! I love using frozen strawberries since you don't really need to add anymore ice!

I use about 4-5 strawberries. Again, I use the same amount even if I am making it for two people! Strawberries are amazing since they are rich with antioxidants, they have vitamin C, they help fight cancer, they promote your eyesight, boost fiber, and of course they taste delicious!

Now the next part is very strange but trust me it is very healthy for you! I add some Spinach and this might sound a little strange but you can't even taste it in the smoothie. The first time I tried it I thought it would taste terrible but shockingly I couldn't even taste the difference For some extra smoothieness (if thats even a word) I add a little more ice just because I like my smoothies more on the thick side. Can you believe that Spinach helps fight cancer, prevents diabetes, improves eyesight, protects skin from UV Rays, filled with antioxidants (which is great for your skin), and has vitamins A,C, E, and K?!? Who knew such as small leaf could be filled with so many nutrients!

Lastly, I add a large slice of fresh lemon to my smoothies. This adds a very light sour flavor (which I love) and it is so good for you body! Lemons fight against infection (amazing when you are sick), it is also an antioxidant, it contains citric acid which is very good for treating acne, one lemon has more than 100% of your daily intake of vitamin C, and it also increases your body's ability of absorbing antioxidants!

One of the most amazing blenders ever is the Blendtec one from Costco! This is definitely worth the price since you can make so many healthy, delicious things with it! I've even made soup using all fresh ingredients!

Now, with a magical push of a button my smoothie is all ready!

& this is the end result! I know, it is a very weird color but it taste AMAZING!
